The Houston CPA Society (TXCPA Houston)) in Texas has partnered with TrueUp, a creator of game-based learning platforms, to host a chatbot-making competition.

Last year, TrueUp hosted an accounting and finance blockchain challenge for which accounting firms were encouraged to sign up to provide mentorship to student entrants. This competition will be similar, with accounting professionals sought to provide advice to students creating chatbots for accounting processes.

TrueUp, a learning company that "gamifies" accounting and finance skills, held its inaugural Blockchain Challenge for Accountants last month, announcing the results this week. Dubbed "Broken Bots 'N' Blocks," the online competition is meant to educate students and professionals on blockchain and how it will have a future impact on the profession.

The competition featured 183 students, divided into teams of three, representing over 30 different universities across the country. Each team was paired with a firm professional to help them understand how blockchain technology works.

TrueUp, a company that “gamifies” accounting and finance skills to help companies build teams through challenges, is launching a blockchain challenge that is open to U.S. college students studying accounting, finance or data science.
